TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Salty Dog Gunsmithing website and its online contact features.

Effective date: July 31, 2026

Agreement to These Terms

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the website. These website terms are separate from any work order, estimate, authorization, intake form, warranty, transfer document, or other agreement used for an actual gunsmithing project.

Website Information Only

Website content describes services in general and is provided for informational purposes. It is not legal advice, firearm-safety training, a diagnosis, a guaranteed repair method, a firm price, or a promise that a particular project can be accepted or completed. Photographs are examples and do not guarantee identical results.

Service Inquiries, Appointments, and Estimates

Submitting a form, sending photographs, calling, or emailing does not authorize work, reserve an appointment, create a gunsmith-customer relationship, or constitute acceptance of a firearm. Services, timing, pricing, parts availability, feasibility, and conditions will be discussed after evaluation. The shop operates by appointment; contact the shop and receive confirmation before bringing in a firearm.

Legal Eligibility and Compliance

You are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws concerning firearm possession, transport, shipment, transfer, configuration, and use. You must provide accurate information and may be required to present identification or complete records required by law. Salty Dog Gunsmithing may decline any request that appears unsafe, unlawful, outside the shop’s capabilities, or otherwise inappropriate. Nothing on this website is an offer to sell or transfer a firearm.

Safe and Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, or abusive purposes.
  • Submit malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with security, or overload the website.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to use or content that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Provide false identity, ownership, eligibility, firearm, or project information.
  • Rely on website content as a substitute for professional inspection, lawful handling, or firearm-safety practices.

Intellectual Property

The website’s original text, branding, graphics, photographs, layout, and other content are owned by or licensed to Salty Dog Gunsmithing and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view the website for personal, noncommercial purposes. You may not reproduce, publish, sell, modify, scrape, or commercially exploit site content without prior written permission, except as allowed by law.

Third-Party Links and Services

The website may contain links, maps, or functions supplied by third parties. They are provided for convenience. Salty Dog Gunsmithing does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, terms, or privacy practices. Your use of those services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from harmful components. Salty Dog Gunsmithing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from website use, inability to use the website, reliance on site content, third-party services, or electronic communications. These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Salty Dog Gunsmithing and its owners, personnel, and service providers harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful or prohibited use of the website, content you submit, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Governing Law, Changes, and Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in a court with proper jurisdiction unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. We may update these terms as the website, services, or legal requirements change; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
